The Avalon Fairy collection has been created by artist Alain Vauchez in his studio in northern Thailand . Each fairy has a matching pair of real butterfly wings which are dipped in resin. The roses are also real and dipped in resin. The butterflies are harvested from non-threatened species of butterflies commonly found in Asia . The harvesting of the wings occurs after the butterfly has left this world and after it has laid its eggs ready for the next cycle of life. These fairies are amazingly beautiful and worth collecting or gift giving.
